Welcome!
We
are a loving, welcoming fellowship, drawn from West Branch, Iowa City,
West Liberty, and other nearby communities.
Ours is a programmed meeting with pastoral leadership, children's
messages, congregational, choral and handbell music, providing a vital
worship experience.
We
share periods of scripture readings and expectant listening open to the
leading of the Spirit. We are drawn together by Quaker testimonies and
concerns, and most of all, by God's love.

CropWalk
in West Branch
September
19 or
September 26
What
is a CropWalk?
Neighbors walking together to take a stand against hunger in our
world. Together we raise
awareness and funds for international relief and development, as
well as local hunger-fighting.
Who is
sponsoring this?
WBARC – the
churches of West Branch and
Springdale
!
How
can I help? If you'd like to help
CropWalk happen, please let Ruthie know. People are needed to
plan the walking route, manage the monies, and make it a go!
Thank you!

September
26th Special Offering
The
West Branch Food Pantry is the agency that will receive our gifts
for the month of September. The
WB Food Pantry was started by long-time West Branch resident, Maxine
Maher many years ago. Initially
the Pantry was one cupboard in the old town hall; however in 1999
Carol Jones and Deb Patty assumed the responsibility and later the
Pantry was greatly improved by Tyler O’Neil as his Eagle Scout
project. Currently, the
WB Food Pantry is located at the
Cookson
Home
Building
.
Carol Jones said the Pantry now has a private entry, which
allows dignity for the people using the service.
The Pantry is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from
4:30
to
6:30
p.m.
and recipients should call for an appointment.
The only qualification is that users must live in the
West
Branch
School
District
.
There are pamphlets in a few West Branch businesses and the
local ministers are aware of how people should contact the Pantry.
Carol Jones can be contacted at 643-2010 and Deb Patty at
643-2060. Jones listed
the following as items that would be most welcome: canned cream
soups, canned fruit, Jello pudding, spaghetti sauce, cereal, tuna
helper, and other convenience foods, hygiene products such as
deodorant and shampoo, dish soap and paper goods such as toilet
paper, Kleenex and paper towels.
Please be generous to this local agency when you give to the
special offering on September 26th.
If you know you will not be attending Meeting on the 26th,
please bring your items the previous Sunday.

Pastor Ruthie was recorded at Iowa Yearly Meeting this summer, on
July 31st, 2010
. Recording signifies the
recognition of God’s ordaining of gifts in ministry by the Iowa Yearly Meeting
of Friends. It is not an ordaination
by the Yearly Meeting – that is something only God can do.
A Pastor's gifts in ministry are literally ‘recorded’ – written down
– as their name is entered as a recorded minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
